I was not yet twenty when I made Aliyah and Israel became \u200emy home. Even though it\u2019s now some thirty five years down \u200ethe road, most are quick to detect an Anglo-Saxon accent of \u200esorts. Granted, I was not cursed with the classic heavy North \u200eAmerican accent. My, linguistic errors, however, are uniquely \u200emine! Usually I mix up the \u201csamach\u201d, \u201csin\u201d and \u201ctsadik\u201d \u200eletters\u2026\u200e<\/p>\n

So it came to pass that today, a few decades later, I \u200ediscovered yet another word undeniably distorted by moi\u2026\u200e<\/p>\n

The subject of conversation revolved around our bodies, \u200emore particularly: which body part do you embrace and love \u200eand which body part would you rather hide from public view \u200e\u200e\u2026\u200e<\/h3>\n

As a typical American girl of the times, I loved to wear jeans \u200eand a T shirt. Levis\u2019 were in: in fashion and out of sight! I \u200eparticularly loved Levis for their beautifully faded denim \u200ewhich aged oh so well. T shirts became a collector\u2019s item for \u200eme. On my journeys, both near and far, I was always on the \u200elookout for a new addition. I was a politically and socially \u200eactive teenager; my extracurricular life focused on youth \u200emovement activities. So it will come as no surprise that I \u200epreferred a T shirt with a meaningful slogan for a worthy \u200ecause. Even so, a trip to Disneyland was a joyous celebration: an excuse to enhance and enlarge my collection.\u00a0\"Micky_Mouse_by_KrazyPenguin\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mickey Trumps!<\/h2>\n

Did you \u200enot know that Mickey Mouse trumps a good cause any day?\u200e<\/h3>\n

Up until my early thirties I continued to wear my everyday \u200euniform of vintage jeans and a tight neck T shirt.<\/p>\n

I felt totally \u200eat home in my traditional apparel and did not for one \u200emoment imagine how totally and completely unflattering it \u200ewas.\u200e<\/h3>\n

Is it not amazing how we can look at ourselves in the mirror \u200eday to day and be oblivious to what others might see? When \u200ewe discover the flaw, no matter how, we cannot but not see \u200eit, every time we look in the mirror! \u201cHey you, over there: I \u200esee you!!!\u200e<\/p>\n

It is all too easy to add yet another fault to our \u201cChest of \u200eBlemishes\u201d overstuffed with cursed flaws. I would love to \u200eknow the biology behind this\u2026\u200e<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t ask me who let the cat out of the bag. I truly do not \u200eremember\u2026<\/h3>\n

For years I have been saying that I have a \u201cdouble piano\u201d! It\u2019s \u200ethose letters that I have trouble setting straight. I\u2019ve probably \u200ebeen corrected tens of times but this time I actually \u200eunderstood what my mistake was!\u200e<\/p>\n

So, yes, I have a double chin and NOT a \u201cdouble piano\u201d. By the \u200eway, there actually is such a thing as a double piano. It can \u200erefer to a \u201cback to back\u201d piano where two can play on \u200eopposite sides of the piano or it can refer to a piano with a \u200edouble keyboard\u2026\u200e<\/p>\n

From that moment on began longings for \u201cthe time of \u200eignorance\u201d. But it was useless! I could not help but see!!!\u200e<\/p>\n

I learned the art of masking. I discovered that a deep \u201cV\u201d \u200eneck suited me to a \u201cT\u201d and shifted the gaze away from my \u200etroubling double.\u200e<\/p>\n

I was curious to know about \u201cThe Good, The Bad and The \u200eUgly<\/strong>\u201d as perceived by others. I asked a number of people \u200eregarding their best and worst features. I was surprised with \u200ethe diversity of responses. Happy was I to discover those who \u200eunconditionally loved their whole body as it was. Most were \u200ecaught totally off of their guard by my questions. For the \u200emost part, \u201cthe worst\u201d was easy to find and \u201cthe best\u201d took \u200esome more time to identify.\u200e<\/p>\n

How nice it was to discover that most people could identify \u200ewith pride a cherished body part\u2026\u200e<\/p>\n

Mindfullness<\/h2>\n

What would happen if we were to focus on the \u200egood and the beautiful: within and without? So much of our \u200eattention lost forever through meddlesome thoughts: \u200enegotiating real or imagined problems. Our minds excel at \u200edelivering a nonstop stream of pending worst case scenarios.<\/p>\n

What we focus on \u200e\u200e\u200egrows!<\/h1>\n

Let\u2019s expand our \u200eattentions on the delights and wonders which await over \u200eyonder. Let your cherished dreams become morning \u200emantras: may they be in your hearts, in your souls and, most \u200eimportantly, in your minds.\u200e<\/h3>\n
