Yes, I got that right: \u200emoreover, I was able to confirm the information from multiple \u200esources\u2026\u200e<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">So yes, coffee is the number one source of antioxidants for the \u200eAmerican people. Not surprising at all. Coffee is an \u200eextremely acidic substance. It can create internal havoc to the \u200edigestive system and cause, heartburn, reflux and ulcers. Coffee is a \u200ediuretic and as such will cause the body to lose fluids. Additionally, \u200ecoffee stimulates the adrenal glands: stress, depression, loss of libido, \u200ebrain fog, fatigue and even chronic fatigue may develop. Coffee \u200econtains caffeine, a stimulating substance, known for its addictive \u200eproperties.<\/span> \u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Plant based nutrition equates health.<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This is a well-known fact. Coffee \u200eis sourced from a plant, is it not? The coffee bean comes with its own \u200eheavily stocked arsenal of antioxidants.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Nutrition is a fledgling science.<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">There is still much to be understood. \u200eNew research leads to new discoveries which often contradict \u200eprevious research. In order to fully understand the beneficial and \u200eperhaps harmful qualities of a specific food, we must take into \u200eaccount many factors including, but surely not limited to: a multitude \u200eof variables, nutrient-nutrient interactions and reactions, \u200eenvironmental factors, lifestyle and many others. The best and most \u200ereliable research is that performed outside of the lab where it is \u200eextremely difficult to isolate a single variable amongst a sea of \u200epossibilities\u2026\u200e<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Of late researchers have revealed new information highlighting \u200enumerous benefits: black may be the new gold\u2026\u200e<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Coffee, black coffee, void of any \u201cadd ins\u201d: no sugar, no sugar \u200esubstitutes \u2013 natural or artificial, no milk, no cream, no, no, no!\u200e<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The benefits of the black drink include:\u200e<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2666 Lowers risk of type 2 diabetes<br \/>\n\u2666 Offers protection from Parkinson\u2019s disease<br \/>\n\u2666 Shields against Alzheimer\u2019s Disease<br \/>\n\u2666 Lowers the risk of prostate, liver, kidney and colon cancers<br \/>\n\u2666 May lower the risk of cardiovascular disease<br \/>\n\u2666 When consumed prior to physical activity aids to burn body fat<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Personally, coffee never had any appeal. My parents drank coffee and \u200ea lot \u2026<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">The aroma of fresh roasted coffee beans and coffee percolating \u200eis heavily ingrained forever.\u200e..<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">At thirty-something I taught myself to drink tea. At forty-something it \u200ewas \u201ccoffee\u201d, a very weak Israeli Elite instant brand and later a \u201cwhiter \u200ethan white\u201d cappuccino of sorts: coffee and tea drinking were \u200eacquired habits, never acquired tastes rather a social adaptation to fit \u200ein.\u200e<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Today at the young age of 54, I decided to experiment for the first \u200etime with a shot of espresso prior to mountain biking. Clearly this was \u200enot a scientific experiment by any account. Impulsive by nature, I \u200eadded yet another variable to the equation. I lay my bike down and \u200etook a demo bike at the forefront of technology for a \u201ctest drive\u201d with \u200emy hubby.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">What a rush! I do not know which variable (perhaps both) \u200ewas responsible for the punch, but I was on fire, supercharged!\u200e \u263a<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><span style=\"color: #f8a616;\">Dramatic discoveries indeed but hold off on the celebration festivities&#8230; \u200e<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Be wary of false prophets!<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Know the source of information as it comes \u200eto you. Always check, cross check and confirm from multiple sources. \u200eIs the source reliable and accredited or merely gossip or advertising? \u200eMost important: is the source promoting a specific agenda? Does the \u200esource have hidden associations? Should all of your research conclude \u200ethat the newly crowned \u201csuperfood\u201d is legitimate, please do not begin \u200eto consume it in excess.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Each person is unique: everybody, every \u200ewoman and every man. One person's medicine is another person's \u200epoison\u2026\u200e<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Back to coffee: for all of its benefits there are still many harmful \u200eeffects to be wary of. Practice moderation.
