We live in a world of abundance.<\/h2>\n

Of this there can be no denial! One \u200eneeds to merely count the number of different cereal boxes on the \u200eshelf at the neighborhood store.<\/p>\n

Take your television; at last count do \u200eyou know how many stations there are? What about your shoe \u200erack? Imelda Marcos would certainly feel at home!\u200e<\/p>\n

A large clutter of objects has taken over much of our time. Inanimate \u200eobjects: inanimate life! In my experience, an extraordinary \u200epreoccupation with stuff is usually an escape from dealing with the \u200ereally important matters at hand.\u200e<\/p>\n

It is all too easy to turn on the television, stare into space and push \u200eour \u201cto do\u201d list aside. This is not breaking news; most of us are all too \u200efamiliar with this type of behavior. Our actions, however, are all the more \u200e\u200e\u201ccriminal\u201d when we are actually running from facing ourselves!\u200e<\/strong><\/p>\n

Others have said this far more eloquently than me. George Addair \u200esaid: \u201cEverything you've ever wanted is on the other side of \u200efear.\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u200e<\/p>\n

Brendon Burchard in his latest book\u200f,\u200f\u200e The Motivation Manefesto, \u200ewrote:\u200e
\n\u200e\u201cWhy, having been endowed with the courageous heart of a lion, do \u200ewe live as mice?\u200e<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We must look squarely into our own tired eyes and examine why we \u200ewaste so much time sniffing at every distraction, why we cower at the \u200ethought of revealing our true selves to the world, why we scurry so \u200equickly from conflict, and why we consent to play small. We must ask \u200ewhy we participate so humbly in society\u2019s frantic race, allowing our- \u200eselves into its mazes of mediocrity and settling for scraps of reward \u200ewhen nature has offered unlimited freedom, power, and abundance to \u200ethe bold, the determined, the creative, the independent\u2014to each of \u200eus. We must ask if our desires to feel safe and accepted are in fact \u200eenslaving us to popular opinion\u2014and to boredom. We must ask: \u200eWhen will we be ready to ascend to another level of existence?\u201d \u200e<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

One day, not so long ago, I noticed a major shift.<\/h2>\n

My days are less \u200espent accumulating beautiful stuff, less hours coach surfing on the \u200etelevision set. More and more, I am finding myself creating, building \u200eand doing. From day to day I am building more real and meaningful \u200erelationships. My happiness and joy expand exponentially each time I \u200estep a little further from my fear and out of my comfort zone. And \u200eyou? What about you?<\/p>\n
